of <h1>Customs Bill of Entry Regulations 2018: File Before Arrival to Avoid Late Charges on Imports</h1> The Customs Bill of Entry (Electronic Integrated Declaration and Paperless Processing) Regulations, 2018, mandate that the authorized person must file a bill of entry for goods at customs ports, airports, inland container depots, or land customs stations before the end of the day preceding the arrival of the vessel, aircraft, or vehicle. Exceptions apply for goods from specific countries, where filing is required by the arrival day. If delayed without sufficient cause, late charges apply, capped at the duty payable or fifty thousand rupees if duty is exempt. Filing is completed once a bill of entry number is generated electronically.
