<h1>SEBI Requires Municipal Debt Issuers to Disclose Credit Ratings from SEBI-Registered Agencies in Offer Documents</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) mandates that issuers of municipal debt securities must obtain a credit rating from at least one SEBI-registered credit rating agency. This rating must be disclosed in the offer document or placement memorandum. If multiple credit ratings are obtained, all ratings, including those not accepted, must also be disclosed in the relevant documentation. This requirement was introduced through a notification dated September 27, 2019.
