of <h1>Manufacturers Can Store Inputs Offsite with Permission Under CENVAT Credit Rules 2017; Must Repay Credit if Misused.</h1> The CENVAT Credit Rules, 2017, allow manufacturers to store inputs outside their factory premises under specific circumstances. The Deputy or Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise may permit this if there is a shortage of storage space and the nature of goods warrants it. Such permission is subject to conditions specified by the authority. If the inputs are not used as per the rules, the manufacturer must repay an amount equal to the credit availed for those inputs.
