CENVAT credit: storage outside factory permitted under conditions; unused inputs require repayment of credit. A jurisdictional Deputy or Assistant Commissioner may, in exceptional circumstances related to goods' nature and shortage of factory storage, permit a manufacturer to store inputs outside the factory where CENVAT credit has been taken, subject to conditions; if such input is not used as prescribed, the manufacturer must repay an amount equal to the credit availed.
