Restrictions on CENVAT credit misuse: government may notify limits and suspend registration to prevent abuse. The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, prescribe measures to prevent misuse of CENVAT credit, including restrictions on utilisation of CENVAT credit, withdrawal of facilities, and suspension of registration of manufacturers, registered importers, dealers, service providers or exporters, and may specify the procedure for issuance of such orders by the Principal Chief Commissioner or Chief Commissioner of Central Excise.
