of <h1>Central Excise Rules 2017: Rule 3 empowers the Board to appoint and define jurisdiction for Central Excise Officers.</h1> The Central Excise Rules, 2017, under Rule 3, authorize the Board to appoint individuals as Central Excise Officers through notification, granting them powers under the Act and rules. The Board can also define the jurisdiction of senior officers, such as the Principal Chief Commissioner and Chief Commissioner of Central Excise, through notification for purposes related to the Act and rules. Additionally, a Central Excise Officer is permitted to exercise the powers and perform the duties of any subordinate Central Excise Officer as conferred by the Act or these rules.
