of <h1>Model GST Law Section 71: Confiscation of Vehicles for Transporting Goods Without Proper Documentation; Owners Can Opt for Fine Payment.</h1> Section 71 of the Model GST Law, 2016, addresses the confiscation of conveyances used for transporting taxable goods without required documentation. Such conveyances are subject to confiscation unless the owner can prove lack of knowledge or involvement in the violation. If the conveyance is used for hire, the owner has the option to pay a fine equivalent to the tax on the transported goods instead of facing confiscation.
