<h1>New Rules for Companies: Section 139(2) Defines Criteria for Unlisted Public and Private Companies' Capital and Borrowing Limits</h1> For the purposes of section 139(2) of the Companies Law, the specified class of companies includes: (a) all unlisted public companies with a paid-up share capital of ten crore rupees or more; (b) all private limited companies with a paid-up share capital of fifty crore rupees or more; and (c) all companies with a paid-up share capital below these thresholds but possessing public borrowings from financial institutions, banks, or public deposits amounting to fifty crore rupees or more. This classification excludes one person companies and small companies.
