of <h1>Amendment to Companies Audit Rules: Rule 5 Clause (b) Changes 'Twenty' to 'Fifty' Under Companies Act 2013.</h1> The Companies (Audit and Auditors) Second Amendment Rules, 2017, issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, amends the Companies (Audit and Auditors) Rules, 2014. Effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, the amendment changes the wording in rule 5, clause (b) from 'twenty' to 'fifty.' This adjustment is made under the authority granted by section 139 and sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 469 of the Companies Act, 2013. The principal rules were initially published in March 2014 and have been amended several times since.
