of <h1>Directors Must Apply Online for DIN via Form DIN-1; Provisional DIN Valid for 60 Days Before Formal Submission.</h1> Every individual who is an existing or prospective director of a company must apply electronically for a Director Identification Number (DIN) through Form No. DIN-1 via the Ministry's portal. A provisional DIN is generated, valid for 60 days, during which a formal application with a fee must be submitted. The application requires a photograph, proof of identity and residence, certified by authorized officials. The Central Government processes these applications and communicates approval or rejection within a month. Once allotted, a DIN is valid for the applicant's lifetime and is non-transferable.
