Unaccompanied baggage transit conditions allow inter-station clearance if passenger arranges transport, supervision, insurance, and required sealing and bonds are provided.
Where unaccompanied baggage arrives at a customs station and the passenger requests clearance at another listed customs station, transit is permitted provided specific conditions are met: the passenger or agent arranges and books transport to the destination customs station and customs house; a customs officer supervises the baggage except when held by airline or railway authorities and the passenger pays the officer's fees; rail-transportable goods are insured with the railways; and for truck transport the carrier must deliver containerised sealed goods to destination customs and execute bond and security to the satisfaction of the Principal Commissioner or Commissioner. Compliance with these conditions permits inter-station clearance.
