The ECM I requires electronic submission of courier identification, carrier and arrival particulars, Import General Manifest reference, and shipment level details (MAWB/HAWB, consignment reference, package counts, weight, description, consignor and consignee, invoice value and currency, and transshipment indicator and place). It includes an authorised courier declaration of completeness and accuracy. On submission Customs generates a serial number with date, making the ECM I the operative electronic record for courier import compliance and customs processing.
