<h1>Applicants for Authorized Courier must show financial viability and pass exams per Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations.</h1> Applicants seeking registration as an Authorized Courier under the Courier Imports and Exports (Electronic Declaration and Processing) Regulations, 2010, must demonstrate financial viability to the satisfaction of the Principal Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs. This requires presenting a certificate from a scheduled bank or other acceptable proof of assets valued at no less than twenty-five lakh rupees. Additionally, electronic declarations for goods clearance must be made by individuals who have passed the relevant examination under the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations. Applicants must also agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. A transition period was allowed until December 31, 2011, for meeting examination requirements.
