Authorised carrier registration governs Nepal cargo transhipment, with approval, periodic review, extension and deemed registration mechanisms.

Registration of authorised carriers for transhipment of cargo to Nepal under the Electronic Cargo Tracking System requires an application in Form-II to the jurisdictional customs authority. Approved registration is initially valid for three years and must be reviewed before expiry. Extensions may be granted for five years at a time, or for ten years for an authorised economic operator. Carriers registered under the Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment Regulations, 2018 are deemed registered under these regulations.
