Input norms for magnesia carbon bricks and C499 castables: allowed input quantities, exclusions, and importer obligations
Standard input-output norms under the Foreign Trade Policy categorize magnesia carbon bricks/shapes and ramming mass, castables and mortars (C499) with specified input quantities and limits: magnesia inputs (dead burnt, sea water, fused magnesia) ~1,020 kg per 1,000 kg export; natural graphite 20 kg; additives (phenolic resins, certain metallic alloys) 120 kg; miscellaneous items (moulds, mould liners, cutting tools) up to 10% of CIF value. Exports of ramming mass, castables and mortars exclude moulds and mould liners. The entry is marked suspended by the noted public notice. Importers must ensure imported inputs match those used or required in the exported product and determine applicable input proportions.
