Import eligibility for the steel-backed lead-based white metal (babbit) alloy bimetal strip (SAE 13 or equivalent) has been suspended by Public Notice No. 03/2024-25; where inputs are claimed for export manufacture, prescribed component proportions (steel, lead, tin, antimony for a 100 kg product) govern admissible use and applicants must ensure imported goods match the inputs actually used in the export product and are subject to verification.
