<h1>Input-output norm: one metal oxide disc per gapless lightning arrester, input proportions and importer matching required; norm suspended</h1> Standard Input-Output norms under the Foreign Trade Policy set input allowances for manufacture of metal oxide gapless lightning arresters of various ratings (measured by number of discs): one finished arrester requires one metal oxide disc of appropriate diameter and thickness containing at least 80% zinc oxide, equivalent on a net-to-net basis to the number of discs in the export product. The norm also permits determination of proportions of inputs for different resultant products and requires importers to ensure imported goods match those used or required in the export product; the norm is currently suspended by public notice.
