FT Policy removes standard input-output norms for textile and garments; exporters must document and match imported inputs to products
For the textile, readymade garments, hosiery and knitwear sector, the prescribed standard input-output norms in the Foreign Trade Policy have been deleted. Instead, applicants must determine and document the proportion of various inputs used or required to manufacture each resultant product, and ensure that imported goods correspond to those inputs actually used in the export product. Compliance requires that imports match the declared input requirements for export production.
