Public notice suspends imports; manufacturers must match imported inputs to actual ointment composition and permissible proportions
Standard input-output norms under the Foreign Trade Policy specify composition for a 10 gm medicinal ointment: per gram Hydrocortisone acetate =5.58 mg, Framycetin sulphate =10.00 mg, Esculoside =10.00 mg and cholesterol q.s., with a batch example for 1,000 tubes requiring 56.10 gm Hydrocortisone acetate, 102.00 gm Framycetin sulphate, 102.00 gm Esculoside and 161.00 gm cholesterol. The entry is suspended by a public notice dated 03-05-2024. The authority determines permissible input proportions for manufacture and applicants must ensure imported inputs are those actually used or required in the export product.
