of <h1>New Cess Rate of 0.050% on Indian Textiles and Machinery Announced, Excluding Handloom and Power Loom Sectors</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under the Textile Committee Act, 1963, has established a cess rate of 0.050 percent ad valorem on all textiles and textile machinery manufactured in India. This applies to excise duty collection, excluding textiles produced by the handloom or power loom sectors. This decision supersedes a previous notification from February 25, 1975, and is effective immediately as per the notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce on June 1, 1977.
