of <h1>Schedule II imposes 18% GST from 22 September 2025 on soaps, liquid skin-wash, and soap-treated papers/nonwovens</h1> A schedule imposes GST at 18% from 22-09-2025 on soaps and related surface-active preparations: soap in cakes, moulded pieces or shapes (excluding toilet soap in bar/cake/moulded form), liquid or cream skin-washing preparations packaged for retail (whether or not containing soap), and paper, wadding, felt and nonwovens impregnated, coated or covered with soap or detergent. The levy applies under the referenced Schedule II effective as of the stated date.
