of <h1>18% GST from Sept 22, 2025 for specified paints, varnishes and leather finishing pigments per Notification No. 09/2025</h1> From 22 September 2025, certain paints and varnishes are taxable at 18% GST under Schedule II: specifically other paints and varnishes (including enamels, lacquers and distempers) and prepared water pigments used for finishing leather. This rate change is effected by Notification No. 09/2025 (IGST(Rate)) dated 17 September 2025 and applies prospectively from the stated effective date.
