<h1>Prepared meat and seafood exports require Halal certification for certain countries and face specific product restrictions.</h1> Export of prepared meat, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, other aquatic invertebrates and insect-based foodstuffs is governed by Chapter 16 of ITC(HS) 2022 Schedule 2. Food preparations qualify where the specified animal component exceeds 20% by weight; homogenised preparations for infants in containers up to 250 g are specially defined. Wild animals and related products are prohibited from export except as authorised under the Wild Life (Protection) Act. Specified meat exports to listed countries require facility certification under I-CAS (Halal) and post-shipment I-CAS Halal certificates; additional importing-country Halal requirements must also be met. Certain products-such as meat extracts to the EU and shark fins-have distinct consignment and health certification or prohibition requirements.
