Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Madras, has been approved by the Indian Council of Social Science Research under section 35(1)(iii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This approval allows the college to collect funds exempt from tax, provided they are used exclusively for promoting research in Social Sciences. The college must maintain separate accounts for these funds and submit an annual report to the Council detailing the funds collected and their utilization. This notification is valid for three years, from April 1, 1977, to March 31, 1980.
