of <h1>Central Government Rescinds Excise Notifications Under Central Excise Act and Additional Duties of Excise Act, Effective May 11, 2004.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, has rescinded several notifications related to Central Excise. These include Notification Nos. 52/2000, 39/2002, 26/2003, 27/2003, and 33/2003. The rescission is deemed necessary in the public interest and is effective from the 11th day of May, 2004, as per Notification No. 59/2003-CE dated 22nd July 2003. The original notifications were published in the Gazette of India on their respective dates.
