of <h1>India Amends Import Policy: Betel Nuts Freely Importable at Rs. 35/Kg or Above Under Schedule-I ITC(HS) 2004-09.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has amended Schedule-I (Imports) of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2004-09. Under the Foreign Trade Policy, the import policy for betel nuts is revised. Betel nuts, whether whole, split, ground, or other forms, are now freely importable provided the cost, insurance, and freight (cif) value is Rs. 35 per kilogram or above. This amendment is enacted in the public interest and is authorized by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
