of <h1>India Lifts Export Ban on Cement: Tariff Item HS Code 2523 Now 'Free' for Global Trade</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 4 (RE-2008)/2004-2009 concerning the export policy for cement, effective immediately. The amendment changes the export policy for cement under Tariff Item HS Code 2523 from 'Prohibited' to 'Free,' allowing unrestricted export. However, previous restrictions exempted supplies from the Domestic Tariff Area to Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and exports to Nepal. These amendments are issued in the public interest under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, and the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992.
