of <h1>India Updates Export-Import Policy: Changes in Duties & DEPB Transfer Rules Under Foreign Trade Act, 1992.</h1> The Government of India has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. Key changes include the replacement of 'basic custom duty' with 'basic custom duty and special customs duty' in paragraph 7.25. The transfer of DEPB is now restricted to the port specified in the DEPB, as stated in paragraph 7.32. Additionally, electronic hardware technology park (EHTP) units can be established without a minimum net foreign exchange (NFE) earning requirement as a percentage of exports or export obligation. These amendments aim to serve the public interest.
