of <h1>Dr. Ambedkar Vanvasi Kalyan Trust in Surat gets a 3-year extension u/s 35AC for welfare projects.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of Dr. Ambedkar Vanvasi Kalyan Trust's projects in Surat under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These projects, which include running a hostel, medical, and self-employment initiatives, were initially approved for three years starting from the 2004-05 assessment year. Based on the recommendation of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, the projects are now specified for an additional three years beginning with the financial year 2006-07, maintaining the approved cost of Rs. 272.00 lakhs.
