of <h1>Community Dental Health Project in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallore gets 3-year extension u/s 35AC; funding cap raised.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Community Dental Health Care and Awareness Project in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallore, managed by a dental foundation, as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially specified for three years starting from the 2002-2003 assessment year, the project is now approved for an additional three years beginning from the 2004-2005 financial year. The maximum allowable deduction for the project cost has been amended from Rs. 15.00 lakhs to Rs. 20.00 lakhs, as recommended by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
