of <h1>M.D. Patel Hospital Project Approved for Tax Benefits Under Section 35AC, Extended for Three Years Starting 2003-2004.</h1> The Central Government has specified the project involving land acquisition, building construction, and operation of M.D. Patel Sarvoday Eye/Orthopaedic Hospital by Adhyatmik Antarik Mandal in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved in 1997 for three years and extended in 2000, the project is now further extended for three more years starting from the financial year 2003-2004. The estimated cost remains seventy lakhs with an additional corpus fund of fifty lakhs. The National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare endorsed this extension.
