of <h1>Gramin Vikas Trust Projects Extended for Tax Exemption Under Section 35AC, Income-tax Act, Through 2006-09</h1> The Central Government has extended the designation of two projects by Gramin Vikas Trust, New Delhi, as eligible under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These projects, the Western India Rainfed Farming Project and the Eastern India Rainfed Farming Project, were initially approved for three years starting from the 2003-04 financial year. Based on recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, the projects will continue to be recognized as eligible for tax exemptions for an additional three years from the 2006-07 financial year, maintaining the approved cost of 9.60 crores.
