This exemption is granted under the Customs Act, 1962, for public interest purposes. The exemption is contingent upon the importer providing a certificate and a certified list of items from the National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention. Additionally, an undertaking must be furnished to ensure that equipment is exported within six months or an extended period, and consumables are accounted for their intended purpose.
