of <h1>Government Approves Special Economic Zone for IT Services in Kasaragod, Kerala; Designated Inland Container Depot.</h1> The Central Government approved the establishment of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services at Cheemeni, Hosdurg, Kasaragod, Kerala, proposed by Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited. The SEZ covers an area of 40.4711 hectares. An Approval Committee was constituted, including officials from various government departments and a representative from the zone's developer. The SEZ was designated as an Inland Container Depot effective February 28, 2013, under the Customs Act, 1962. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce.
