of <h1>India Amends Customs Rules: Adjusts Variance Limits for Re-Import of Diamonds, Updates Foreign Trade Policy Definition.</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 9/2012-Customs to adjust the permissible variation limits for the re-import of cut and polished diamonds. The amendment allows a variance of up to +/-0.01 mm in height and circumference and +/-1 cent in weight. Additionally, the definition of 'Foreign Trade Policy' has been updated to refer to the policy published by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as amended. This amendment, issued under the Customs Act, 1962, aims to align with public interest considerations.
