of <h1>India Exempts Customs Duties on Crude Oil Imports from Brunei Under Notification 63/2012-Customs, Effective January 1, 2013.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 63/2012-Customs, dated December 31, 2012, exempting crude petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals, classified under tariff sub-heading 2709 00, from customs duties when imported from Brunei Darussalam. This exemption is effective from January 1, 2013, and requires importers to prove the origin of the goods as Brunei Darussalam, in line with the Customs Tariff Rules, 2009, related to the ASEAN-India Preferential Trade Agreement. The notification supersedes a previous one from November 1, 2010.
