Tax deduction for approved charitable eye hospital project extended, preserving approved cost after committee recommendation. The Central Government has notified an extension of eligibility for the Poona Blind Men's Association's expansion of H.V. Desai Eye Hospital-including super speciality eye care, ocular surface institute, community ophthalmology, doctors' quarters and canteen-on the recommendation of the national committee. The project's eligibility is extended for a further three-year period commencing 2012-13, with no change to the previously approved project cost of Rs. 7.14 crore, under the statutory notification mechanism for approved charitable projects.
