Sri City SEZ in Andhra Pradesh reduced by 379.327 hectares after government approval; area now 1158.796 hectares.
M/s. Sri City Private Limited proposed to establish a multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in several villages within Andhra Pradesh, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The Central Government initially notified a total area of 1538.123 hectares for the SEZ. However, the company later sought to denotify 379.327 hectares, which the government approved on January 21, 2011. Consequently, the SEZ's area was reduced to 1158.796 hectares. This notification was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on November 9, 2011, formalizing the changes in the SEZ's designated area.
