Amendment to Company Law Board Rules: High Court Judges as Chairpersons to Get Equivalent Salary and Benefits
The Central Government has amended the Company Law Board (Qualifications, Experience and Other Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 1993, by inserting sub-rule (5) in rule 9. This amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, specifies that a serving or retired High Court Judge appointed as Chairman will receive compensation equivalent to their High Court salary and benefits. A retired Judge's total remuneration, including pension, will not exceed their pre-retirement salary, while they will also receive allowances and benefits similar to those of a serving High Court Judge.
