of <h1>Government Extends Tax Benefits for 'Akshar Centre for Hearing Impaired' Project u/s 35AC for Three More Years.</h1> The Central Government has extended the recognition of the 'Akshar Centre for Hearing Impaired' project, managed by a trust in Baroda, as an eligible project under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years starting in the financial year 2005-2006 and extended for another three years from 2008-2009, the project will now continue for an additional three years beginning with the financial year 2011-2012. The project cost remains unchanged at Rs. 62 lakh, following a recommendation from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
