<h1>Government Extends Vivekananda Loksiksha Niketan Project for Special School in West Bengal Until 2012-13, No Tax Certificates for 2010-11</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the project by Vivekananda Loksiksha Niketan for constructing a special school for visually handicapped and mentally retarded children in West Bengal. Initially approved for three years from the 2007-08 financial year, the project is now extended for an additional three years starting from 2010-11 to 2012-13. The approved cost remains Rs. 1.41 crore. However, no tax certificates under Section 35AC will be issued for the lapsed financial year 2010-11. The extension follows a recommendation from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
