Education Society's project for expanding a 100-bed multi-speciality hospital in Tumkur, Karnataka, under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years starting from the financial year 2008-09, the project is now extended for an additional three years, covering 2011-12 to 2013-14. The project, which involves purchasing equipment and covering recurring costs and corpus funds, maintains an approved cost of Rs. 25.05 crore, including a Rs. 9.00 crore corpus fund. The extension follows a recommendation from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
