Initially notified in 2006 and extended in 2008, the project includes vocational training, education for destitute children, outreach cancer care, detection camps, and palliative therapy. The project, with an approved cost of Rs. 47.19 crore, is now extended for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2011-12 through 2013-14, following a recommendation by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
