of <h1>Central Government Approves IT-Specific SEZ in Greater Noida; Operational from December 31, 2010, as Inland Container Depot.</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology and IT-enabled services at Plot No. TZ-09, Technical Zone, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, proposed by a private organization. This approval, granted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, includes the development, operation, and maintenance of the zone. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising government officials and a representative from the developing company. The SEZ will be recognized as an Inland Container Depot from December 31, 2010, under the Customs Act, 1962.
