of <h1>Central Government Forms Approval Committee for SEZs, Designates Them as Inland Container Depots Under Customs Act</h1> The Central Government has constituted an Approval Committee for certain Special Economic Zones (SEZs) that were previously notified without the simultaneous establishment of such committees or the deemed status of Inland Container Depots. The Approval Committee will include the Development Commissioner of the SEZ as Chairperson, along with members from various government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, and Finance. Additionally, two state government officers and a representative of the zone developer will participate. The SEZs will also be deemed Inland Container Depots from the date of their main notification under the Customs Act.
