of <h1>India Amends Customs Notification to Apply 7% Rate for SAFTA Concessions Effective January 2011</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 134/2010-Customs on December 31, 2010, amending Notification No. 68/2006-Customs. This amendment, effective from January 1, 2011, modifies the entries in the TABLE against serial numbers 1 to 248 by substituting the existing entries in column (4) with '7%'. This change is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, to implement concessions under the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) agreement, deemed necessary in the public interest.
