of <h1>Govt Approves New SEZ for Electronic Hardware and Software in Greater Noida; Effective from Dec 22, 2010</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for electronic hardware and software, including IT and IT-enabled services, at Knowledge Park-V, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative, proposed by a private organization, has fulfilled the necessary requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The government has notified the designated area and constituted an Approval Committee comprising various officials and representatives to oversee the SEZ's development, operation, and maintenance. The SEZ is effective from December 22, 2010, and is designated as an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962.
