of <h1>Central Government Approves Gems and Jewellery SEZ in Gurgaon, Haryana; Inland Depot Status Effective from Dec 2010</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the Gems and Jewellery sector in Village Bhondsi, Tehsil-Sohna, District-Gurgaon, Haryana. The SEZ will be developed by a private company under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. A designated area of 10.4550 hectares has been notified for this purpose. An Approval Committee, comprising various government officials and representatives, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ's operations. The SEZ is recognized as an Inland Container Depot/Port effective from December 22, 2010, under the Customs Act, 1962.
