<h1>Tribal Schools Project in Jharkhand, Tripura, and West Bengal Gets 3-Year Extension; Tax Deduction Raised u/s 35AC.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the 'Tribal Schools and Welfare Initiatives' project in Jharkhand, Tripura, and West Bengal, managed by Vyakti Vikas Kendra India, under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Originally approved for three years starting in the 2007-08 financial year, the project is now extended for an additional three years from 2010-11 to 2012-13. The project cost allowance for tax deduction has been increased from Rs. 6.42 crore to Rs. 11.51 crore, following recommendations by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
