of <h1>Customs Notification Amends Rules to Exempt State-Supported Renewable Power Projects from Conditions under Customs Act 1962</h1> Notification No. 118/2010-Customs, dated November 18, 2010, amends the previous notification No. 81/2005-Customs to exempt goods related to power generation using non-conventional materials. This amendment introduces a proviso that exempts power generation projects promoted by State electricity boards or corporations, recognized as State Transmission Utility and Licensee by respective State Governments, from certain conditions. This change is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, to support state-promoted projects in the public interest.
