The approval was granted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, with the area covering 43.258 hectares. An Approval Committee, comprising government officials and representatives from the developer, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ's operations. The SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot as of September 30, 2010, under the Customs Act, 1962.
